Co-directors Mark Keene and Shane Thompson established Optimus to offer sophisticated investors a different style of financial services and advice. Over 20 years, Mark and Shane have developed an intimate understanding of the needs of those with wealth and those keen to build wealth. Mark and Shane are ably supported by a team of professional and experienced staff.
Mark is a Chartered Accountant and accredited SMSF Specialist Adviser (SSATM), a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a CA accredited financial planning specialist. He is committed to enhancing relationships with professional advisers and their clients, through implementing high level SMSF and tax restructuring initiatives with regard to business restructuring, estate and succession planning, wealth management and investment advice.
Shane is a Private Client Adviser with a Diploma in Financial Planning and is a specialist SMSF Adviser. Shane has over 24 years’ experience in the financial services industry providing advice to private clients in the areas of superannuation, retirement planning, wealth accumulation, asset protection and private equity.
Scott is a CPA and a Chartered Tax Advisor with over 17 years accounting and tax experience in commerce and professional practice. He’s a strong believer in building professional relationships based on service and trust, coupled with a holistic approach, which ensures clients’ business and lifestyle goals are taken into consideration when advising. With a passion for cloud based technology, Scott also provides solutions for increased productivity and business performance.
Keira joined Optimus in July 2014. In the Financial Services and Private Equity side of Optimus, Keira is a liason for clients and deals with all facets of administration. Before Optimus, Keira worked in the financial services industry and also studied psychology, criminology and most recently, human resources. Keira enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves an adventure.
After taking a break from the workforce to raise two rambunctious boys, Shay resumed her accounting career in 2014. With ten years experience across a number of accounting practices, including over 5 years here at Optimus Shay’s greatest satisfaction lies in truly understanding a client’s needs.
Justin is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) and a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning). Over the past 20 years, he has gained valuable experience in the areas of financial planning, wealth management, accounting and auditing. His combined experience, enables him to ensure Optimus continues to be highly compliant and client centric company. Away from the office, Justin loves spending time with family and friends, gardening and being a volunteer.
Tina began her career in the financial services industry in 1998 at the Bank of Melbourne (in Melbourne) and later returned to Perth to take up a role at Westpac. In 2008, she joined the team at Optimus as administration assistant providing a range of support services to the other staff. Outside work, Tina she plays hockey and is an avid supporter of the Richmond Tigers.
Narelle joined Optimus in June 2015. Before Optimus, she worked as a bookkeeper in various industries including transport, banking, retail and resources. Narelle holds a Certificate IV in Financial Services and has studied Human Resources. At Optimus, Narelle describes her role as being varied and diverse much like an administrative gatekeeper! She recently designed the office interiors and enjoys project management. Narelle enjoys music festivals, travel and her daughters.
Holding a degree in Accounting, Sue provides support to Optimus Private Clients. With 12 years experience of commercial accounting and finance, she has worked in the areas of mining, oil and gas and engineering. Sue has two teenage children and enjoys fitness and weight training, the beautiful outdoors, watching movies and reading.
Lina, who has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting, has been working in the financial services industry for over 20 years. She joined Optimus in 2012. Currently, she is specialising in the area of superannuation, which involves managing the administration and compliance of our clients Self Managed Super Funds.
A chartered accountant of 20 years, Sue provides the senior administrative management of the Optimus Group. She has been with Optimus, in a part-time role for over 15 years.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning and SMSF accreditation. Jason has over 6 years’ experience in the financial services industry, also considerable experience in the art of house husbanding! Real financial planning is Jason’s passion. He believes in a balanced approach which takes into account the client’s entire situation, understanding individual needs, concerns and aspirations before tailoring a cohesive plan for the future.
Holly joined Optimus in Dec 2016. She has a Diploma in Accounting and over 15 years’ experience in Customer Service and Administration roles. Holly provides valued support to the financial services department. When not in the office, Holly can be found coaching at her kids Little Athletics Club and dreaming of her next holiday destination.
